sad

We received word yesterday that Hubby’s mother passed away unexpectedly.  So we will be headed to Arizona to be with family and help with the funeral.  It will likely be quiet on the blogging front.  I take this opportunity to tell my friends and family that I love them and appreciate their prayers.

Confirmation of a known truth

You Are a Pistachio

You are funky, freaky, and a total character.
You’re very different than anyone you know.
There’s no way you’re changing the way you are…

Home again, home again, lickety-split

Sorry for the lack of blogging the last couple of days.  The hotel we stayed in on Thursday night had internet connectivity issues and I was so tired by the time we made it home yesterday that I immediately crashed.
We left Long Beach on Thursday morning, and after a quick stop for espresso and scones, [...]

Today marked Day 2 on the road, and we completed the bulk of our driving, arriving in Long Beach, WA around 6:30pm.  Val and I started the day with a brisk walk in 35 degree, windy weather.  She sure does know how to wake a girl up.  The Columbia River was gorgeous and we snapped [...]

Mint Stealers and Seal Barkers

Day 1 of our vacation commenced this afternoon at 4pm, when my mother, my Aunt Val and myself departed Caldwell and headed west.  Why so late?  Well, we were busy celebrating my Grandmother’s 80th birthday party with a surprise tea luncheon.  It was truly a lot of fun, and a good reminder of the importance [...]

Public Service Announcement

Public Service Announcement:
Goat Cheese + Pear Williams + Black Pepper Cream + Dark Chocolate coating = YUCKY YUCKY YUCK YUCK YUCK!!!
I never realized it was necessary to know this particular bit of information until a co-worker received a thank-you box of exotic chocolates today and graciously shared them with the rest of the class.  Among [...]

Should and Did

What I should have done today:
Balance the checkbook
Clean the bathrooms
Wash/Dry/Fold Laundry
Clean up the dirt & hair on the floor
Start packing for vacation (woot woot!!)
What I actually did today:
Went to the hairdresser and got a cut/color
